My name is Cici Farikhah, I am 20 years old and i am 4th semester student in English major at Indraprasta PGRI University (UNINDRA).
• My activities as English student
In this pandemic situation. Of course my activity is learning at home. Such as, all of the assignment is doing at home, filling online attendence in LMS, google classroom, whatsapp group or other platforms, doing exam at home, and paying some administrasion in bank or mobile banking for who didn't get ukt scholarship.
As i feel, learning at home has some benefits. Such as the time is more flexible, do all the activities at home, but sometimes the materials are difficult to understand because the material explained just from ppt and some video.
As English student, i am learning parts of English language. Such as listening, writting, reading and speaking.
I always do some grammar exercises, try to make an essay better by changing something to improve my grammar. I improve myself with the movie that i watched and the song that i listened.
Sometimes i memorize some vocabulary to increase my vocabulary and practice to use new vocabulary when i was speaking or talking with my friend in speaking class. Anyway sometimes i try to make paragraph and English writting practice to augment my writting skill.
I really miss learn face-to-face. As a matter of fact, I prefer learn face-to-face than online learning. Although i require money for transportation cost to campus, but the material understand more than when i do online learning. For me, learn face-to-face is more effective than online learning.
It has been around more 1 years or almost 3 semesters i did online learning at home. I hope the situation of next semester will be normal as usually before the pandemic came.
• Why you take English major at Unindra?
I took English major at Unindra because close distance from my home, the price is affordable with good quality.
English is very significant to learn. It's new recognize as a Universal language. As we know English is a global language, English is the most commonly spoken language in the world. I love learn about new things.
Studying English can help me get a job. English is the language of many sector.
English gives me access to multiple culture, Good knowledge of English will allow me to access film, music, and literature from hundreds of countries around the globe, and also it's easier to communicate with people from all over the world because English is a communications bridge across the country. Its are the reason why i take English major.
• My Goal after graduate
When i've graduate from Unindra, I will try to apply some employment or school to get job and i will continue learn high level of english to increase my knowledge and help educate people who can not get education to channel my ability and my knowledge.
